Very important notice regarding driving in Japan
Important points on renting a car in Japan

⋅ Personal identification and a driver's license are required.

We are required to check and photocopy your passport, your International Driving Permit * and your driver's license from your home country. As a vehicle operator, you must follow the relevant Japanese domestic laws and regulations.

* Note:
Your International Driving Permit (IDP) should have been issued under the authority of the GENEVA CONVENTION of 1949.
In the case of Swiss, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium and Taiwan documentation, your local driving license with an official translation is required.
If you do not have the appropriate International Driving Permit (IDP), and any additional required documentation as noted above, you will not be permitted to drive a car in Japan.

⋅ Payment method

A credit card is required to effectuate payment.

As you operate your vehicle in Japan, please follow Japanese domestic laws and regulations and always drive safely.

⋅ Use of cellular phone
Note that Japanese domestic law prohibits the use of cellular phones while driving. Please stop the vehicle before using your cellular phone.

⋅ Child seat
If the passengers include a child under 6 years old, you are obliged to use the child seat for that occupant under Japanese domestic law. Mazda Car Rental has 3 types of child seats. Please fill in the application for this item if necessary.

⋅ Parking
Regulations regarding parking on the road are very strict. If you leave your car, you must be parked in a designated parking area.

⋅ Check the vehicle
When using a rental car, you are obliged to check the vehicle every day before you drive. Please confirm the roadworthiness of vehicle each day according to the daily check sheet we provide to you when you check out.

To our customers who have completed their reservation and have agreed to the preceding points, please be prepared to present the following valid documents:

* International Driving Permit
* Local driver's license from your country of residence
* Passport
* Valid credit card
