Notice for Rental in Japan

Very important notice regarding driving in Japan

Please note the following:

Before renting the vehicle

Personal identification and a driver's licence are required.

You are required to show us the following documents to rent a car at pick up.

* International Driving Permit*

* Passport

* Note :
Your International Driving Permit (IDP) should be issued under the authority of the GENEVA CONVENTION of 1949.
In case of Switzerland, Germany, France,Monaco, Belgium and Taiwan, your local driving licence with an official translation is required.
If you do not have the appropriate International Driving Permit (IDP), and any additional required documentation as noted above, you will not be permitted to drive a car in Japan.

Also note, from 1 Dec 2013, the driving licence issued in Italy accompanied by its official translation is no longer valid due to an amendment of the traffic regulation.

(Those customers who have Italian local driving licences must bring IDPs based on the GENEVA CONVENTION of 1949.)
